Caring for you in your home

Becoming a caregiver

Because our client numbers are increasing we are always looking for more caregivers.

Most of our caregivers find caregiving to be more than just a job - there is a real sense of satisfaction and achievement in caring for someone. You are likely to experience a wide range of emotions - joy, sadness, excitement and frustration - but overall you will know that you are having a positive impact on an elderly person's life.

You will also be working for an organisation where caregivers feel they are part of a team and know that their work is appreciated.

However it takes a special person to become a HomeChoice caregiver. The most important test we use in our interviews is whether we would be happy to have you looking after a parent or other relative of ours. If not, then we know we need to find someone else.

Our caregivers come in all shapes and sizes - young and old, male and female. But you must have:

  • Friendliness
  • Patience
  • Enthusiasm
  • Personal integrity
  • Flexibility

And most of all, you need to CARE.

Apart from these personal qualities, you will also need a clean police record and a full drivers licence.

"HomeChoice is a pleasure to work for. They genuinely care about and understand both client and employees needs. We all work with respect, commitment and a good sense of humour and fun."
